(Photo: Heading towards Death Valley in 2016)
I just wanted to do a short post on here to let everyone know I will be hitting the road Saturday March 10th. I’ll be leaving from the San Antonio, Texas area, and heading west. My plans are to head through El Paso, then to Las Cruces. The weather will determine what direction I go from there. If it’s still cold along the I-40 (Route 66) corridor, I’ll more than likely continue on west towards southern California, then up to Santa Cruz. More than likely, I’ll be there for a little while, so I can find something that resembles work….after all, I have to finance all of this stuff on my own. Eventually, I’ll make my way back to Route 66 in Barstow, then head back east. There are some places in western New Mexico I hate yet to get photos of, but I won’t be going past Grants. After that, it’s hard to say where I will go, but I’ll probably wind up back in southern California.
I’ll still be posting on here, as well as Twitter and Instagram. I just started using that Vero True Social app, along with Travello. I’ll do what I can to keep up with those, as well. For those of you that don’t already follow me on social media, you can find me tweeting and ‘gramming as @backroads66. Don’t worry, photos will be posted, as well as other horror stories from the road.
So, I hope everyone stays tuned in while I make my way out on the road, again. I only have a few days until departure, so things will be a little hectic trying to get some needed supplies. I will be hitchhiking, so blog posts and tweets may be a little slow.
Until next time,
Keep gettin’ your kicks…I’ll be gettin’ mine!
